Children's Holiday Party 2005

The Civil Service Council and the AP Council again jointly coordinated the ISU Children's Holiday Party. This year, the crowed topped 300 people; the most in attenance for at least the last decade.

We have many people and organizations to thank for the success of our Holiday Party that took place on December 3, 2005. The children and grandchildren of all employees (administrative professionals, faculty, and civil service) as well as students were invited to the annual Children's Holiday Party. Cookies and punch were served, and each child received a small goodie bag.

The Gamma Phi Circus has always been the highlight of the party, and this year they really seemed to "wow" the crowd. The children look forward to Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves each year, and they were not disappointed. Tony Jennings, our photographer, added a great deal to the event by offering photos with Santa for a nominal fee. Someone new made an appearance this year to the holiday party; a special visit by Reggie Redbird was greatly appreciated by the children as he hugged many of them and allowed pictures to capture the moments.

We would like to thank McDonald's for their generous contribution of punch for the party. The Civil Service Council provided decorated sugar cookies for the children, also.

There are many more that need special thanks extentended to them, including the following individuals and groups who contributed to the goodie bags: The Alamo II for ISU pompoms and tattoos; Barnes and Noble Bookstore for pencils; ISU Athletics (Leanna Bordner of Marketing) for soccer balls, footballs, and tattoos; ISU Athletics (Larry Lyons of Business & Finance) for the Redbird pins; Alumni Relations (Annette Levitt) for the red and white leis and Reggie coloring pages; McDonald's for the cookie packets; Jan Staley and her mother for candy; Barb Arbogast for candy; and Casey Cox for his work putting the goodie bags together.
