Distinguished Service Award

This is the highest honor a staff member can receive at Illinois State. Recipients must have been employed at the university for at least 5 years and can receive the award only once in 7 years. Nominees are judged on three criteria: work, university, and community contributions. Award recipients will normally excel in all three areas. The award is based on significant contributions over a period of time and is not typically given for a single contribution. Recipients receive a $500 cash award and a plaque. In addition, recipient's names are mounted on the University's Wall of Fame in the Bone Student Center.

Please access the links below for the criteria and application form. You may also contact your Dean, Director, or Department Head, the Civil Service Council Chair, or any member of the Civil Service Council for a paper copy. The award recipients are announced at during the Founders' Day Convocation in February.

The next application deadline is DECEMBER 1, 2009.
