Acccomplishments 2003-2004
Events/Awards/Achievements:
- Awarded 5 scholarships to children and grandchildren of Civil Service Staff.
- Awarded the second annual Carl Johansen scholarship award to a Civil Service staff member who is seriously pursuing a degree.
- Held a Fall Picnic on Milner Plaza.
- Participated in the Homecoming Parade.
- Developed a Confidentiality Statement to assist members and constituents.
- Began accepting classified ads for the OpenLine.
- Sponsored a shopping trip to Gurnee Mills
- Holiday Party starring the Gamma Phi Circus was held for children and grandchildren of all ISU Employees. Co-sponsored by the AP Council
- Participated in the Homecoming Parade.
- Council participated fully in the Presidential candidate interviews during the Open Sessions, the Civil Service Sessions, and luncheons with the candidates.
- Provided publicity for an ISU Shopping Night at K’s Merchandise Mart
- Chair and another member attended Council of Councils statewide meeting
- Sent 3 buses of people to a Cubs game.
- Participated in the WJBC Brotherhood Tree.
- Invited Union representatives to meet with Council and constituents to answer questions.
- Held a raffle to earn money for additional scholarships.

- Joe Rives (again!) to get our endorsement for the revised Educating Illinois
- Joe Rives to give us our yearly update on the Educating Illinois progress (Joe is an honorary member by this point!)
- Steve Bragg (VP Finance & Planning) to answer Council questions and update us on the budget
- President Bowman to answer Council questions and update us on the state of the University.
- John Presley (Provost) to answer Council questions.
- Paul Jarvis, AP chair, with Martha Burk, presented “A Day in the Life of Illinois State University Staff” – originally presented before the Board of Trustees.
