Acccomplishments 2004-2005

Events/Awards/Achievements:

  1. Awarded 7 scholarships to children and grandchildren of Civil Service Staff.
  2. Awarded the third annual Carl Johansen scholarship award to a Civil Service staff member who is seriously pursuing a degree.
  3. Held a Fall Picnic on Milner Plaza.
  4. Participated in the Homecoming Parade.
  5. Sponsored a shopping trip to Woodfield Mall.
  6. Holiday Party starring the Gamma Phi Circus was held for children and grandchildren of all ISU Employees. Co-sponsored by the AP Council
  7. Participated in the Homecoming Parade.
  8. Provided publicity for an ISU Shopping Night at K’s Merchandise Mart
  9. Chair and another member attended Council of Councils statewide meeting
  10. Sent 5 buses of people to a Cubs game.
  11. Participated in the WJBC Brotherhood Tree.
  12. Held a raffle to earn money for additional scholarships.
  13. Sponsored a food drive to benefit the Compassion Center.
  14. Council invited to dinner at the President and First Lady’s house at beginning of academic year.
  15. Council established a mail box within the Academic Senate office.
  16. Council secured 2.5 hours of secretarial help a week (Academic Senate secretary).
  17. Sponsored a Monical’s Pizza night to raise money for operating expenses.
  18. Chair compiled a Procedures Manual for the Council.
  19. ISUAA (Annuitant’s Association) chair became semi-regular guest at Council meetings.
  20. Reconstituted Council’s Legislation Committee.
  21. Began sending New Employee Welcoming letters to all new CS.
  22. Provost invited Council to attend Academic Affairs Annual Planning Presentations. Chair attended.

  2. Joe Rives – NCA presentation.
  3. Bill Cummins to report on progress of SSN/Identity Theft Committee
  4. Joe Rives – Educating Illinois and NCA visit
  5. Josie Evola, director ODAA
  6. Steve Bragg to answer Council questions and update us on the budget.
